Max P. Horton, 84, passed away March 25, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born March 3, 1938, in Marion, to H.D. and Esther Jean (Stubbs) Horton.

Max graduated from Wichita East High School in 1956. He was employed as a machinist at Eaton Hydraulics for over 30 years.

Max chose to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 1948 and tried to live a life acceptable to Him. He attended Walnut and Campbell Church of Christ in Hutchinson.

One of the things Max was most proud of was the writing of his autobiography for his children and grandchildren to remember him by.

In 1961, Max married Susan Lee. This union was blessed with 3 sons: Greg, Jay, and Scott. In June 1983, he married Sue (Jerauld) Howey and inherited a daughter, Shannon.

Max was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen and graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Hazen Cemetery in Plevna Township.

Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hutchinson Community College Athletic Department, Women's Basketball, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
