Samuel W. Ford, formerly of Amherst, but who recently moved to Bayard, was killed near that place. He was found in the road with his head crushed, evidently being killed by having the wagon which he was driving and which was loaded with potatoes, running over his head. The body was shipped to Kearney Tuesday and taken to Amherst Wednesday where services were held at ten o'clock from the M.E. church. Mr. Ford was 68 years old and but one member of the family is left, Mrs. Ira Bigelow, of Amherst.
