Gertrude, Trude, Canet, 103, died March 10, 2022 at Generations Siena Skilled Nursing Center in Auburn.
Trude was born on 21st of November 1918 in Bemidji, Minnesota to William and Victoria Anderson. She was the eldest of 11 children.
She was a graduate of Bemidji High School. She served in the Navy as a Disbursing Clerk for 6 years, serving 4 years during World War II and later for 2 additional years during the Korean Conflict. She was a resident of Auburn for 60 years. Prior to moving to Auburn she worked as a telephone operator for 11 years after which she focused on caring for her family and to participate in community organizations. Trude served as president of the Auburn Garden Club, was a member of the Donner Garden Club and served as District Director of California State Garden Club. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and volunteered to support Campfire Girls and Jobs Daughters. She was a member of the Mormon Church. In 2011 Trude moved to Solstice Senior Living and had many friends there.
Trude is survived by her brother, her daughter and son-in-law, grandson and granddaughter-in-law, great granddaughter, great grandson and great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Albert Canet, granddaughter Allie Chapman, brothers Charles Anderson, Leonard Anderson, Ronald Anderson, Harold Anderson, Harry Anderson, Wally Anderson, sisters Lorna Johnson, Geraldine Dow and Delcie Harder.
Interment at New Auburn Cemetery 1040 Collins Drive Auburn, CA.
