Jack was born February 24, 1927, in Buffalo, NY, to John Patrick Dempsey and Margaret M. (Colton) Dempsey. Jack served in the U.S. Marine Corps and spent a year in Mongolia as part of the occupation force immediately after World War II. Afterward he earned a degree in electrical engineering and worked for General Electric as a sales engineer for many years.
Jack married the widow Sandra (Meyer) Kenneally on April 26, 1985, in Minneapolis. They enjoyed many happy years together until she passed away during 2018.
Besides his wife, Jack is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Mary Catherine and brothers, Daniel and Joseph. Survived by (step) children, Patrick (Carole), Margaret, Caroline (Ted Oyama), Christine and Katharine (Edy Eljure); grandchildren, Patrick Kenneally, Eduardo, Liam and Paolo Eljure; sister, Margaret Colton Hardy. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, April 4th at 11am at the Church of St Patrick, 6820 St Patrick's Ln, Edina, MN, with visitation one hour prior and luncheon to follow service. Private interment at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Crystal, MN.
