Yvette Dorothy (Poulin) Gilbert, 93, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Dec. 29, 2015 at Glenridge Nursing Home in Augusta. She was born on July 27, 1922 in Augusta, the daughter of the late John and Regina Poulin. She went to schools in Augusta. On Jan. 27, 1941 she married Laurent Gilbert and they had been married for 42 years in 1983 when he died. She sold Avon when her children were young, worked at home lacing moccasins for Taylor Shoe, at Houdletts Department Store and at Key Bank.
After her husband died, Yvette found a special friend in her neighbor, Larry Lambert. Together they had great adventures traveling and truly enjoyed being together. Besides traveling, Yvette enjoyed gardening, cooking and especially sewing. Yvette was a parishioner at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Augusta.
She was predeceased by a brother, Raynold, two sisters, Muriel and Laurette; and a son, David. She is survived by her sons Raynold and wife Pat of Bowdoin, Don and wife Lois of Sidney, and Rick and wife Dede of Augusta, daughters Nancy Minoty and husband Bob of Whitefield, Julie Mayernik and husband Dan of Augusta and Theresa Ovelton and husband Leon of Indiana; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Poulin and Isabelle Gilbert.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 9 at 11:00 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Augusta.
