Meredith Green, 102, of Goshen, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born March 30, 1919, in Hinsdale, Montana to John and Lelia (Hire) Mench. On April 25, 1942, she married Joseph N. Green in South Bend. He died October 11, 1991.

She is survived by the children, Kathy (David) Schrock and Debra (David) Garman, both of Goshen and Gary (Christine Fischer) Green of Syracuse; three grandchildren, Dawn Wright, Adam Schrock and Darlene Fehrenbacher and six great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and James Mench.

An area resident since the age of two, Mrs. Green graduated from Syracuse High School in 1937 and attended South Bend College of Commerce. During World War II she did civil service duty in Florida and Baltimore, Maryland, where her husband was stationed. In 1983 she retired as an executive secretary from then Salem Bank and Trust Company.

Mrs. Green was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where she served as secretary of the Women's Organization and on the church council.
She was a very active community member, she volunteered at Goshen Hospital, Oaklawn, Interfaith Hospitality Network and Goshen Boys and Girls Club, where she taught sewing. She served on the boards of the Garden Club, Home Extension and Interfaith Hospitality Network. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be Monday, March 28, 2022, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and Tuesday, from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Faith Lutheran Church. Pastor Jessica King will officiate. Burial will follow in Syracuse Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to Faith Lutheran Church or Boys and Girls Club of Goshen.
