Shirley was one of eight children born to Artie and Ruth Cromeans. She was raised on a farm outside the small town of Oneida, AR. She married at eighteen to an air force airman and had two sons. They divorced after sixteen years. She married Roger in 1975 and they lived in the same house for forty-one years until, for health reasons, Shirley had to move to an adult family home. She was there for six years until her death.

Shirley enjoyed good friends, cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and flowers. She did volunteer work at Fairchild Hospital, the DSHS office, and The Children's Ark of Spokane.

Shirley is survived by her husband Roger and her sons Ed Boyd and wife Diana, Rick Boyd and partner Dana, granddaughter Emma, grandson Chris, stepchildren Kerry, Mark, and Amber, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Shirley is also survived by her brothers Jim and sisters Martha and Jeannie, and several nieces and nephews.

A special thanks go to the owner and staff for the loving care Shirley received at Kimberly's Cottage during the time she was there.

A funeral service will be held at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home at 5100 W. Wellesley on March 12 at 11:00 AM followed by a graveside service at Fairmount Memorial Park at 12:30 PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Shirley's life.
