Died, Mr. J. W. Hampton, an old and much esteemed citizen, died yesterday after a lingering illness and the sympathy of many friends goes out to the afflicted family. The funeral takes place this afternoon from the First M. E. Church.

There are no tombstones for any of the Hampton family members buried in this plot. Known burials are: Charles B (d 1874), Elizabeth E (d. 1868), Frank R. (d. 1888), James C (d 1855), James W. (d. 1875), Julia (d 1854) and Stella (d 1873).
