Johnny Thomas Maxwell, age 81, passed away Wednesday, March 23 at Powder Springs Center for Nursing and Healing. A native of Paulding County, Johnny was born October 31, 1940 in Dallas, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Harley and Emma Cole Maxwell. In 2008, he lost his loving wife of 47 years, Frances Nails Maxwell. He was also preceded in death by 8 siblings.
He is survived by his daughter Pam Lawrence and husband Derek, his son Keith and wife Chantel, his daughter Donna Chandler and husband Bryan, along with his brother Joe and wife Mary Ellen. His pride and joy was always his 5 grandsons, Josh Lawrence and wife Laura, Jesse Lawrence and wife Lacey, Wade Maxwell and wife Hailey, Jordan Lawrence and wife Laurel, and James Maxwell. Then came along the great grandkids that he loved so much. Henry Lawrence, Sam Lawrence, Ellee Lawrence, Teddy Lawrence, Elam Lawrence and Lincoln Lawrence. He was also blessed with a special great great niece, Kenzie Hagerty. Extra blessings came with bonus grandchildren, Hannah Hydrick and husband Mike, Adam May and wife Jessica; great grandchildren Lauran Hester and Dylan Champion, Hunter Hester, Wyatt May and Rebecca May, great great grandchildren River and Hutson Champion. He is also survived by a host of other family members.
Johnny loved his family and spending time with them. He faithfully attended Westside Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11 a.m. from Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Hiram, GA with Pastor Gene Morehouse, Mrs. Edna Jordan, and Pastor Danny Anderson officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 25 from 5-8 p.m. Also on Saturday, March 26 from 9-10:30 a.m.
Interment will follow at Bethany Christian Church, Dallas Ga. The pallbearers will be Josh Lawrence, Jesse Lawrence, Wade Maxwell, Jordan Lawrence, James Maxwell and Jeff Durham.
