SOUTH PORTLAND - Judith Ann Robbins, 83, of South Portland died Wednesday March 16, at the Maine Veteran's Home in Scarborough.

Judy was born April 19,1938 in Milo, Maine the daughter of Olyn and Murel (Bickford) Darling. She grew up in the Bangor area and graduated from Hampton High School. As a girl Judy loved to figure skate and often talked of joining the Ice Capades. According to her brother, Jon, she would have been a star. Soon after high school Judy married Randall (Mickey) Callahan and they had two children; a daughter, Kelly, and a son, Charles (Chuck). The family relocated to the Greater Portland area during their brief marriage and Judy worked at Blue Cross/Blue Shield and then Fairchild Semiconductor during that time.

In 1975, through mutual friends, she and Merrill Robbins met. They fell in love, married and remained together until Judy's last breath just after midnight on Wednesday.

Judy loved watching professional football and Red Sox baseball on television. And she loved all animals, especially her Himalayans, Thor. Yes, plural. Two consecutively, both Thor.

Judy spent her last days in the care of the wonderful staff in the A Wing (Memory Care) of the Maine Veteran's Home in Scarborough. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to support our veterans and their families, www.mainevets.org. Thank you.

A private graveside service was held on March 21, 2022, at 1:00pm at Forest City Cemetery, South Portland.
