Betty Jo Adams fell to sleep on March 15, 2022 at Research Belton Hospital.
Betty was born to the late Joseph and Thelma Lee Adams Sr., on February 7, 1939, in Kansas City, MO.
She attended St. Monica and Lillis High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She had the privilege of portraying the role of Dorothy of the Wizard of Oz.
She also literally marched to the beat of her drum. She was present in her school marching band. Betty was also an avid reader. She was a fan of Robin Cook, Stephen King, and V.C. Andrews.
Betty could do wonders with a sewing machine, often sharing her seamstress ability with others. She also exhibited great skill in the operating room at Truman Medical Center where she retired after 35 years of service.
Proceeding Betty in death are her parents Joseph and Thelma Lee Adams Sr., her two youngest children Donald and Eula Caldwell, and her grandson Christopher all of Kansas City, MO.
Betty leaves behind her brother Joseph Lee Adams, City Councilman of University City, Missouri, her two oldest children Mary Terrell (Cecil) of Sugar Creek, Missouri, and John C. Smith Jr., (Earma) of Grandview, Missouri. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends.
Funeral service will be held Friday, March 25, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church, 5930 Swope Parkway, Kansas City, MO. Visitation 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens.
