Helen M. Sewall, 79
BATH-- Helen M. Ollie Sewall, 79, of High Street, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2006, at her home.
She was born on Nov. 30, 1926, in La Grange, Ill., a daughter of Orin E. and Minnie Mae Gleim Richards.
She graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder, class of 1948, where she received a bachelor's degree.
She lived in Central City, Colo., for one year where she worked in a photo shop. She then moved to San Francisco, Calif. where she met her future husband, Edward Sewall Jr. Edward and Helen were married on Oct. 21, 1950, in San Francisco.
She had a passion for horses and horseback riding and was a breeder of Morgan horses. She was a member of the Maine Morgan Horse Association.
She traveled throughout the world and wintered for many years in the Caribbean.
She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, a trustee of the Patten Free Library, and served on the fundraising committee for the new Bath Area YMCA.
She was predeceased by her husband who died on July 22, 2005.
She is survived by four sons, Edward Ned Sewall of Arrowsic, Andrew C. Sewall of Bath, Phillip R. Sewall of Durham, and Mark Sewall of West Bath; two sisters, Margaret Runyon of Ludington, Mich. and Katherine Meade of Chicago, Ill.; six grandchildren; and 10 nieces and nephews.
All services will be private.
