Betty was born February 20, 1938, in Shreveport, LA to Howard Philip and Nora Lee Whitman Anders. She entered the rest of her Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 20, 2022, in Hendersonville, TN with her loving family by her side. Except for a period of twenty years, Betty was a lifelong resident of Arcadia, LA. After graduating from Arcadia High School, she pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education at Louisiana Tech University. Betty then taught school in Arcadia for a brief time before taking on the fulltime role of homemaker.

Betty was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Arcadia and served in various roles over the years. One of her most treasured accomplishments was establishing and serving as the first director of the daycare program at First Baptist. Betty was immensely proud of her hometown and served her community through activity in numerous civic and philanthropic organizations.

She was a devoted member of PEO Chapter D for over 50 years, serving in several leadership positions. Her lifelong PEO friendships were both significant and cherished.

After a family move to Haynesville, LA Betty became very active at First Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Director, teacher, and was instrumental in the launching of a daycare program. While in Haynesville she was also involved in many other community affairs.

Most of all Betty was known as a faithful follower of Christ. She radiated His love to all those she encountered. Betty's gifts of hospitality, compassion and service were experienced by many. She was welcomed to her eternal home with the words… "well done my good and faithful servant."

Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry of 60 years, brother Milton "Pete" Anders and parents Howard Philip and Nora Anders.
