Margaretha Anna Kalbfleisch was the wife of Johann Peter "Peter" Wilker. They were married in 1835 in Germany, just after Peter's return from Upper Canada (now Ontario) where he investigated the possibility of establishing a new life in the growing British colony. The pioneering couple made their home in a densely forested area of Wilmot Township, initially living in a small log cabin. As more people moved to the area, the growing settlement became known as Peter's Burg, and later Petersburg, as it is known today.

Margaretha and Peter Wilker had five known children:
- Catherine (1835-1922)
- Elisabeth (b. October 1, 1837)
- Christina (b. October 2, 1839; d. September 14, 1841)
- Christina (1842-1909)
- John (1844-1916)

Margaretha Wilker died on May 29, 1882. Having lived for almost a half-century in Petersburg, she would have witnessed the village's growth from its first log-cabin home to a thriving community.
