John "Jack" McManus, age 73, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, in Nashville, North Carolina. He was born in West Orange, New Jersey on March 14, 1949, to Harry and Phyllis McManus. He is survived by wife, Carolyn McManus, and stepsons, Jackson Langley of Nashville, and Adam Langley and wife, Kristy Langley of Rocky Mount. He is also survived by his sister, Judy McManus Haijneh of New Jersey. Jack also leaves behind his grandchildren, Jaden Langley (20), Kaleigh Langley (18), Justin Langley (14), Dalton Langley (8), and Sarah Catherine Langley (7).

Shortly after high school, Jack joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He then moved to Rocky Mount, North Carolina where he would start his own HVAC business. Jack enjoyed fishing and boating with his grandchildren. He was loved and appreciated by many; anyone who knew Jack knew his love for his golden retrievers, leaving behind his loyal companion, Harry.

A casual visitation will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Rock Creek Baptist Church from 1pm to 4pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity or to Rock Creek Baptist Church, 1238 Rock Creek Drive, Nashville, N.C. 27856. The best way to remember Jack is to live like he did: work hard, play hard, love hard.
