From the Stone Funeral Home Inc. - Petoskey, MI:
"Robert Raymond Padgett, 83 of Petoskey, died November 24, 2017 at Bay Bluffs Medical Care Facility in Harbor Springs.

Robert was born on January 2, 1934 in Clarion, MI, the son of Glenn and Mable (Shannon) Padgett and was raised in Clarion until his Mother died when he was 14 and the family moved to Petoskey. Robert graduated from Petoskey High School in 1954 and shortly thereafter, entered the US Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War.

He returned home and on September 21, 1959, Robert married the love of his life, Mary B. McMichael. The two made their home in Walloon Lake Village until a tragic fire claimed their home, then they moved to Petoskey where they resided until recently. Robert worked at various area restaurants, from Boyne Mountain to Burger Chef and later Arby's where Robert retired from after being seriously injured.

Robert loved to laugh and serve others. He was fondly known as "The Joker" by many but also liked to volunteer and play church music. He was an avid fan of Detroit Tigers Baseball and rarely missed a game.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Padgett; mother, Mable (Shannon) Padgett; step-mother, Jessie (Hinkley) Padgett and by 5 brothers, Russell Padget, Dale Padgett, Theodore Padgett, Fay Padgett, and James Padgett; and by 3 sisters, Gladys Stanley, Ina Dingman, and Florence Barnes."

Robert and Mary had children, they survived them.
