Eliza Frances McCormick was the daughter of Joseph Pryor "Pappy Joe" Alexander and Mary Frances "Mammy Frances" (Peters) Alexander. She married Samuel E. McCormick on September 01, 1870, in Livingston, Polk Co., Texas. when she was just 18 years old. Samuel McCormick was 23 years older than Eliza and had already been married. On February 02, 1872, while traveling by wagon with her husband, Samuel McCormick, Eliza apparently went into premature labor and died in childbirth before they could reach home or family. She may be the first one to be buried in the Alexander Cemetery.
