Edward Joseph Roberts
1937 - 2022
Edward Joseph Roberts, age 84 of St Paul MN. Born 8/11/1937 in Graceville MN to Henry and Anna Roberts, Eddie graduated from Graceville High School in 1956 and then went to college at the University of Minnesota.
He was married to Joanne "Kay" on February 6th, 1966, and together they had three children.
He is preceded in death by brothers Billy and John and sisters Dorothy Kill and Mary Renyolds.
He is survived by his sister Lois Sullivan and children, David (Patty) Roberts, Linda Roberts, and Amanda (Megan) Murphy, as well as by his five beloved grandchildren, Kari Johnson, Lucas and Isaac Roberts, and Luella and Simon Murphy.
Eddie was a true outdoorsman who loved to canoe, camp and fish, passions that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He was able to take many canoe trips to the boundary waters with church groups when David and Linda were small. With Amanda, he frequented the Porcupine Mountains for camping on Lake Superior.
He enjoyed traveling and during retirement, Ed and Kay visited all 48 continental states with Phillips Tours. Ed was a long-time paper carrier for the Pioneer Press and was a friend to everyone on his route. With his infectious sense of humor, he was always able to find the joy in everyday and could generally be seen with a bit of mischief in his eyes. Ed was fiercely supportive, brave, and loyal with a touch of reckless independence.
Ed passed away peacefully on 3/17/2022 at home with his wife by his side.
A celebration of life will be held March 23,2022 from 1-4p.m. at the Cremation Society of Minnesota at 4343 Nicollet Ave S Minneapolis Minnesota 55409.
