A Service of Christian Burial for Mr. Martin Gonzalez-Figueroa, also known as Peñé, age 87, will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Little Bethel Cemetery at 12:00 p.m. with Father Antonio to serve as Celebrant.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel and conclude at 11:30 a.m.

Martin passed away peacefully and met Our Lord and Savior on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 1:53 p.m. at home with family by his side. Martin was born in Isabela, Puerto Rico on November 11, 1934 to Isidra Figueroa and Eliseo Gonzalez. He married Rosa Perez and had two children: Nelson and Martin Jr. Following a divorce he moved to New York City where he later met and married on August 24, 1963, the love of his life Myrta Alicia Vargas. Together they had three children: Mayra, Marisel and Marvin.

Martin cherished spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing dominoes, raking leaves, harvesting crops, and helping others. He loved numbers and did well as an accountant, director of day care center, insurance salesman, but his pride and joy was his lumberyard/hardware store, Maderas Alco. Martin had a strong faith in God and took comfort in the Catholic devotional "La Palabra Diaria". He will be deeply missed

He leaves to cherish in his memory his children, Nelson Gonzalez, Martin Gonzalez Jr., Mayra Gonzalez, Marisel Wilson and husband Tom, Marvin Gonzalez and wife Rocio, and Marlen Gonzalez; brother Toño Gonzalez; grandchildren, Eneida Gonzalez, Yomaira Gonzalez, Atbel Gonzalez, Alexander Wilson, Nicholas Wilson, Lucas Gonzalez, Joseph Gonzalez, Lyla Gonzalez, Samuel Gonzalez, and Sebastian Gonzalez.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Myrta Alicia Gonzalez, his parents Eliseo Gonzalez and Isidra Figueroa, his siblings: José Gonzalez, Manolin Gonzalez, Gloria Gonzalez, Sebastian Gonzalez, Milagros Gonzalez, Efrain Gonzalez, Anibal Gonzalez, Eliseo Gonzalez Jr., Iña Gonzalez, and Maria Gonzalez.
