Tora! Tora! (1970). James was an editor for film and television, also acting as an associate producer in the 1950's. In addition to the Oscar nominated films he was also known for 'Rebecca', 'Lady of Burlesque', 'A Farewell to Arms', 1937's 'A Star is Born', 'The Prisoner of Zenda', 'Topper Returns', 'Tortilla Flat', 'Walk a Crooked Mile' and 'Scaramouche'.
