He attended Midtown Community School, for high school attended Bayonne High School and graduated from Ferris High school. Moving on to attend college at NJCU. While making his parents proud through his educational success, Jose decided to dedicate his life not only to this City but to our country. Upon his return home, he became a Hudson County Sheriff's Officer from 2013 – 2015 and eventually a proud Jersey City Police Officer from 2016 – 2022.
Jose was a devoted father to Jayden. Besides spending time with his son he enjoyed playing video games, building computers and was a die-hard Steelers fan. Jose always made sure to find time to dedicate to his parents who he loved very much and were always by his side. Jose is survived by his one and only son Jayden Vargas, his loving parents Wanda and Laudelino Vargas and his beloved aunts and uncles Maria Rosario, Daisy Rosario, William Rosario, Olga Curran (aunt/godmother) and Gene Hoffaman (godfather). Jose will be deeply missed by his friends, family and his extended family through his service. Although today can be a sad day where we mourn the life lost, we as a family ask that you remain strong and courageous. Life can be challenging but we must remain steadfast in seeking constant strength and staying close to our loved ones.
