Cora was born on 16 December 1886 in Dunbridge, Wood, Ohio. This birth can be found in the official record of Ohio, County Births, 1841-2003, Wood County 1880-1887, Volume 2, page 292, Probate Court. In this record Cora's parents are listed as William Allen Van Buskirk and Martha Beaupre.

Beyond this document Cora does appear in any other official record after 1886 including the U. S. census for 1900. No death record can be found. A plausible explanation is that Cora was either premature, stillborn or died soon after she was born which was not recorded in official court documents. Not unusual in the 1800's.

In January 2022 I spoke with cemetery officials to determine the location of burials of 4 young/infant Van Buskirk children, including Cora. Cemetery officials discovered a hand written notation on one of the records. Note: 4 Van Buskirk burials located east of single grave 18.

I visited this cemetery site in March 2022. There are several Van Buskirk burials in section (5A) and row 18. I also reviewed records of all Van Buskirk burials in Oak Grove Cemetery. The 4 individuals in question are not recorded on any record. There are no headstones at this location which may indicate that these may have been infant burials.

According to death records at the Wood County Department of Health the deaths of three infant children of William J. and Nellie Van Buskirk (William Allen and Martha Van Buskirk's son) state burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery. These children do not appear in any other cemetery burial record or location. Based upon these discoveries it is highly likely, though unproven, that this location is the burial site of these three children, and the 4th being Cora Van Buskirk.
