Charles E. "Ed" Lowe, 85, of Springfield, died at 9:04 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Ed was born June 23, 1936, in Witt, IL, the son of Alfred and Ineta M. Sawyer Lowe. He married Barbara A. Feraris on June 28, 1958, in Hillsboro, IL; she preceded him in death on December 31, 2018.

Ed proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed with the State of Illinois for 34 years until his retirement in 1997 and worked for the Federal government for ten years. Ed enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, spending time at the Off-Track Betting facility with his friends, hunting, fishing, and golfing.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Lowe; and sister, Margie Groesch

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

Inurnment will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors.
