Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon for Ensign Arthur J. Stockus, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stockus, of McMahon avenue, Monessen, who was killed in a plane crash Tuesday near East Douglas, Massachusetts.
A military escort accompanied the body of Ensign Stockus from Quonset Point, R.I., arriving in Monessen Saturday Evening. The Monessen Ensign was flying a Naval Fighter Plant when the accident occurred.
A brother Lt (JG) Robert Stockus survives with the parents.
Friends will be received at the Check Funeral Home and services will be held there Monday with Dr. P.F. Steininger of the Lutheran Church in charge. Interment will be in Grandview cemetery.
