Melissa was well-known around Oberlin and Oakdale. She had worked in the public for many years and never met a stranger. She loved and treasured her two boys more than anything. They were her most prized possession-known as her "Bad Boyz II". Melissa had a huge heart; always lending a helping hand to others. She loved her family dearly; always bragging about their accomplishments. Melissa enjoyed crafting, doing word puzzles, watching television, visiting with friends, family and neighbors. Cooking was a delight for her and feeding her family. She loved to swim and enjoyed the beach also. There was never a dull moment with Melissa. She loved to laugh and make others laugh. She always left us with a big hug and an "I love you". Melissa will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Melissa's memory include her mother, Nell D. McComic of Oberlin; son, Hunter B. Carroll of Oberlin; nephew, Casey D. Coe of Oberlin; three nieces, Caylee (McKinley) Storer, Chelsea (Ben) Barnard and Cortnee L. Gallow all from Oberlin; great nephews, Julian and Jagger Storer and Jhett and Baby J. Barnard all of Oberlin; sister, Angela McComic (Kenneth) Gallow; and her aunts, Bobbie Willis and her nanny, Jane Willis.
Melissa is preceded in death by her father, Donald G. McComic; son, Justin Carroll; and grandparents, Oscar and Hazel Durio and Glen and Carrie McComic.
