Mrs. Dot was born in McComb, MS on April 15, 1930 and was the daughter of Elijah and Sarah Laird. She attended Bogue Chitto at Carter's Creek Baptist Church where she enjoyed fellowshipping with her church family. She was a member of Delta Masters Chapter of Beta Sigma PHI Sorority in McComb, MS. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and taking care of her house plants. She also helped with the Tri County ARC and St. Jude Benefits with her husband, Tommy. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, James Barron; her second husband, Bill Long; one brother, Jake Laird; one son and daughter-in-law, James Timothy Barron and Jeanie Barron, and another daughter-in-law, Norma Barron.
She is survived by her loving husband, Tommy Roberts of Jayess, MS; one son, Bobby Barron of Thompson, MS, and numerous grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Robert Phelps, James Barron, Cole Parker, Tommy Broom, Jason Broom, Mason Broom, Ben Parker and Cohen Broom. Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony Townsend and John Anthony Broom.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 9AM until time of service at 11AM at Sharkey Funeral Home with Bro. Justin Morgan and Bro. Jimmy Houston officiating. A burial will follow in the Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery.
