Son of O E Martin and Josephine Bledsoe Martin. He was a U.S. Army veteran and reservist from 1963 to 1968, and retired from the Clinton Mills in 2002. He had been a member of both the Joanna Pentecostal Church and Joanna First Baptist Church where he had served as Deacon. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Shirley Tollison Martin of Joanna; sons, Kevin Martin (Laura) of Clinton, and Rodney Martin (Sondra) of Greenwood; grandchildren, Kelsey Martin, Brock Martin, Mack Martin, Nate Martin, and Seth Martin; and brother, Harold Martin (Linda) of Joanna.
