Gordon Timms was born July 4, 1932, in Lamesa. He married Clercie Allen on Oct. 24, 1952, in Lubbock. He farmed in the Petersburg area until 1959, when they moved to the Anton community, where they also farmed. He served in the Navy at the end of the Korean War.
He was a member of the Anton Masonic Lodge, Anton Lions Club and was serving on the Anton City Council. He was a Franklin Life Insurance agent for 10 years and was named Salesman of the Year his first year. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anton.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lon of Shallowater and Chris of Lazbuddie; a daughter, Dorenda Prater of Springfield, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were on Monday, August 5, 2007, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Rush Coffman officiating.
