MRS. MARTHA H. BERNARD

Mrs. Martha Hanson Bernard, wife of Mr. Alfred D. Bernard, died yesterday morning at Saranac Lake, New York. She had been in poor health for some time and went to Saranac Lake on this account in January. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Constable and was born in Baltimore. She was married in 1898 at the Maryland Avenue Presbyterian Church. She leaves, besides her parents and husband, one son, Richard C. Bernard, 5 years old, and several brothers and sisters. The body will be brought to Baltimore today. Mr. Bernard will accompany the remains.

Mr. Bernard is a member of the law firm of Richard Bernard & Son.

The funeral of Mrs. Hanson Bernard, wife of Mr. Alfred D. Bernard, took place yesterday from her home, 1718 St. Paul street. The services were conducted by Rev. Davidson McDowell Douglas, pastor of Maryland Avenue Presbyterian Church, assisted by Rev. John Timothy Stone, of Brown Memorial Church. The pallbearers, selected from her cousins and more particular friends, were Messrs. Thomas Hughes, James F. Ridgely, William Hanson Hodges, J. Barry Mahool, R. Ross Holloway and Robert Grayson Loy.

Among those who attended the funeral were ...

The H. W. Jenkins & Sons had charge of the funeral. The interment was in the Bernard family lot in Greenmount Cemetery.

Prior to the breaking down of her health Mrs. Bernard was an active worker in the Maryland Avenue Church, of which she was a member since its organization, teaching in the Sabbath-school and working with the ladies.
