Beverly was an honor's graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta, class of '64, a Merrill Scholar at the University of Norway and received her Master's Degree in Mathematics from Michigan State University. She gave her talents to the University of California-Berkeley from 1971 until retiring in 2004 as Director of the Office of the President.
Beverly loved to serve, to please, to empathize and to encourage everyone and anyone. A more supportive person would be hard to find.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lester McDonald, her father and mother Plemon and Jeanette Whatley of Atlanta and her father-in-law, Callie McDonald.
She is survived by her son Kevin McDonald (Carmen) of NY, Keisha McDonald of LA, sister JoAnn Whatley of Atl, brother Plemon El-Amin (Cassandra) of Atl, mother-in-law Gustavia McDonald, sister-in-law Linda McDonald, brothers-in-law Keith and Wayne McDonald and her precious grandson Khalil, the McDonald and Whatley families and numerous relatives, co-workers, neighbors and friends.
Viewing will be from 1-6pm on Monday, June 14th, followed by a Quiet Hour for family and friends from 6-7pm. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 15th at 11am at Fouche's Hudson Funeral Home, 3665 Telegraph Ave, Oakland, CA 94609. FOUCHE'S HUDSON FUNERAL HOME
