John Ralph Burgess is a United States Army veteran, he served in the United States Army from July 1970 till July 1973 and earned the rank of Sergeant SP5 in September 1972. John served 9 months of foreign service in Vietnam. During his active-duty John's MOS was 68B20 Aircraft Turbine Engine Repairman and his last duty station was the Fifth Army in Fort Hood Texas.
After his active-duty John received an honorable discharge and was transferred to the Army Reserves till June of 1976. While in the service of his country John earned the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Sharpshooter Rifle.
