Frances "Frankie" Marie Delk, 82, of Kansas City, MO, passed away March 17, 2022. Frankie was born December 16, 1939, in Sedalia, MO, to Ray and Dorothy (Pugh) Hudson, and was raised by her mother and loving stepfather, Henry Heinaman. She married Gerald "Jerry" Allen Delk on December 11, 1958, in Hartford, Michigan.
Frankie attended Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia, MO. Frankie spent nearly 40 years in the optical industry, including several years in city, area and regional manager positions. She was a faithful long-time member of Sycamore Hills Baptist Church, Kansas City Baptist Temple, First Baptist Church of Raytown, Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and Northland Cathedral. Frankie and Jerry enjoyed serving together in children's ministries, with Frankie devoting 20+ years to nursery care. Frankie and Jerry invested countless hours ministering to neighborhood and disabled children through their bus ministry.
Frankie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Rita Heinaman. She is survived by her husband and three children: Darla Delk Edmiston (Paul) of Liberty, MO, Jerry Allen Delk (Lisa Wilson) of Kansas City, MO, and Scott Andrew Delk (Kenyon) of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: James (Lynsey) Edmiston, Jesse (Amanda) Edmiston, Taege Thailing, Keile Thailing, Sophie Delk, Blane Delk, Chloe Delk and Miranda Delk, as well as six great-grandchildren and her sister: Nancy Finnell.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Northland Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Frankie's memory to the Northland Cathedral Mission Outreach. Cremation arrangements provided by Neptune Society. Interment at Leavenworth National Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Kansas City Hospice/NorthCare Hospice for making Frankie's last days so comfortable and peaceful.
