Born: April 16, 1938 in Sterling, IL
Died: December 4, 2021 in Chandler, AZ

Roger F. Anderson (83) was born to James Harvey and Edith E (Staples) Anderson. He attended Sterling High School for two years and graduated from Walnut High School. He served in the US Army as a drill sergeant until 1959.

Roger was a talented brick and block craftsman working on many homes and businesses in Sterling and the surrounding communities. He worked for Marsh and Schrader Mason Contractors prior to going into business for himself.

Roger was a Sterling firefighter for nine years. He also served the community for many years with the Sterling/Rock Falls Jaycees. He enjoyed playing softball & football in his younger years and was an avid angler and hunter.

Roger is survived by his partner, Nadine Oldham of Chandler, AZ, his two children; Kelly (Dr. Ronald) Walker of Phoenix, AZ and Kraig R. Anderson of Wichita, KS, four grandchildren; Dr. Christopher (Michelle) Walker of Chandler, AZ, Abby Anderson and Sgt. Alexander Anderson of Wichita, KS and Kristianna (Juan) Gracia of Roanoke, TX. He was delighted to spend his last years in Arizona with great grandchildren, Rose and Reese Walker and Mhya and Miles Williams.

Roger is also survived by his sister, Rosalie Hartman, his brother, Ronald (Rhonda) Anderson, his sisters-in-law; Marilyn Anderson and Anne Anderson all of Sterling and Jeanne Anderson of Knoxville, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Richard, Raymond and Robert, brother-in-law, Gerald Hartman, and granddaughter, Melissa Walker.
