James "Buck" Edward Sutton, age 81 of Water Valley, Texas went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 8, 2022. Buck was born on October 7, 1940 to Edward Grogan Sutton and Wilma Clarene Watson Sutton.
Buck served in the United States Army National Guard as a Military Policeman serving in Berlin, Germany during the Cold War. When he returned home to Texas, he met the love of his life a German descended Sharon Sue Schneider and they married on November 14, 1963.
Buck was a Jack of all trades. He was a machinist and had his own business in Midland, Texas. During this time, he also made parts for the Chaparral Cars Pennzoil Racing team. He was a carpenter and built many houses in North East and Central Texas. He also built custom cabinets in private planes. He then retired as a Wal-Mart Automotive manager.
Buck had many passions. He was a fine musician playing guitar in numerous bands as well as the bass at church. He had the pleasure of playing in bands with many of his family members. He played for senior citizens dances sharing his love of music with everyone around. He was a great horseman. He trained horses and had a riding school. He won numerous trophies and ribbons in Western Pleasures, Cutting and numerous other events. He trained and loved his last horse Frisky of 33 years.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Sharon Sue Sutton of Water Valley, TX. One daughter Cindy and husband Keith of Brownwood, TX. One son Wes and wife Lynn of Water Valley, TX. He had five grandchildren. Jocelyn and Jennifer Woolf, and Brittany, Wyatt, and Weston Sutton. One sister Barbara Parrent and husband Bennie of Daingerfield, TX. One brother -in-law Larry Schneider of Carlsbad, TX. Then numerous other relatives and his beloved dachshund, Chloe.
Buck is now in peace in heaven with his parents and his sisters Mary Griffin, Eddie Myrl Crocker and Shirley Crocker and two nephews and one niece. He is now riding his horse, Frisky and playing his guitar singing songs of Merle Haggard.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, TX. A private burial of ashes will take place in Marietta, TX .
