Gary Nathaniel Kline Burgess of Hot Springs, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 16, 2022. He was born January 27, 1939 in the family home to Leonard and Willie Audrey Burgess.
He joined the Air National Guard February 1st, 1941 and retired a senior Master Sargent, E8.
He served 41 years, 9 months and 2 days. He started working at Arkansas National Bank on July 1st, 1961 as a transit clerk and several years later, he became a note teller and he retired as a Vice President and Division Manager from the same bank, which had been bought out as Nation's Bank. He retired from Nation's Bank in 1998.
He graduated HSHS in 1957. He attended SAU in Magnolia for one year and SMU Banking School for three years, graduating in 1970. He was in Sertoma Club from 1965 to 1980. During that time, he was president for one year and helped to put on the Miss Hot Springs Pageant for many years. He was in The Oaklawn Rotary Club for seven years. He was a member of The Chamber of Commerce and The Ambassador's Club in the nineties.
Gary was on The Board of Directors of The Buckstaff Bathhouse for thirty five years. His role was secretary for the Board of Directors.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
