Cheryl Ann Norton, 66, of Grottoes passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville. Born June 26, 1955 in Washington, D.C., she was a daughter of the late John and Frances Nirich.

Cheryl was the owner and operator of Norton Embroidery. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially at the racetrack where she had a love for drag racing and her toy poodle Lucy. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.

Survivors include her two children, Jennifer Lynn Norton of Berryville, Va and Lee Raymond Norton and wife, Alicia Shores of Grottoes; grandchildren, Cody Moulds, Melody Norton and Hadley Shores; two brothers, Mike Nirich and wife, Patsy of Front Royal and Jimmy Nirich and wife, Debby of Catlett, Va; and nieces, Shannon Sutphin, Christin Nirich Kettering, and Taylor Nirich.

Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or the Augusta Regional SPCA, P.O. Box 2014, Staunton, VA 24402.
