Don grew up in El Paso, Texas where he attended Ysleta High School and was an active member of the basketball program. Before retiring he was President of Frontier Mechanical and Frontier Industrial Contractors.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Beatrice (Bea) Townsend Gray and Lester( Boots) Gray. His Great-grandparents John W. Windham and Lou Ann Baker, His Grandparents, William Earl Townsend and Willie Townsend, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins many of whom are interred at Mount Hope.
Don was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was also a beloved pet owner and loved his little dog Rowdy who crossed the rainbow bridge on October 12, 2021
