Edith Elizabeth Lock Henderson, 101, died March 14, 2022, at Waldron Place, Hutchinson. She was born January 26, 1921, in Arlington, to Benjamin and Fannie (Sims) Lock.

Edith worked at Kress and Company from 1940 to 1946. She loved quilting, reading, and working puzzles. Edith belonged to Faith Quilters for over 30 years, "Perk Pals" coffee group, and volunteered for the American Heart Association from 1980 to 2003. Edith was a charter member of Faith United Methodist, belonged to United Methodist Women, and was named "Woman of the Year" in 1995 and 2007.

On January 25, 1943, she married Phillip A. Henderson, in Hutchinson. He died August 12, 2008, after sharing 65 years of marriage.

Edith is survived by: her sons, Gary Henderson (Marcia), and Randy Henderson (Linda), all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Jason Henderson, Joshua Henderson, Chad Henderson, Brent Henderson, Ben Beckman, and Brian Flowers; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; sisters, Sandra West (Lee) of Hutchinson, and Mary Wallingford of Wichita; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; infant son, Wayne Eugene Henderson; infant daughter, Carol Ann Henderson; daughter-in-law, Janet Henderson; brothers, Froman Lee, Billy Joe, James, and Cleo; and sisters, Bernadine Lock, Ailene Solida and Bertha Thompson.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2022, at Elliott Chapel, with the Reverend Larry Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
