Born in Oregon, he was the son of Ross and Martha Ross Gahring.
Mr. Gahring came to this area in his childhood and has resided here since.
He retired from the Manion Steel Barrel Co., after 54 years of service.
He was married December 24, 1907 to the former Ethel Drake who preceded him in death in Jamuary, 1949.
Surviving are five daughters, Miss Jane Gahring, at home, Mrs. L.C. (Violet) Smith of Hadley, and Mrs. Freda Hewston, Mrs. H.W. (Gladys) Gloss and Mrs. F. L (Louise) Gibson all of Oil City and 30 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
One son Norman also preceded him in death August 1, 1950.
Removal was made to the Hutchinsons and Morton Funeral Home, where the family will recieve friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. Russell Lewis pastor of the Church of the Nazarene will officiate.
Interment will be in Rynd Farm Cemetery.
