SADIE BARRENTINE PARKER

Mrs. Sadie Barrentine Parker, age 75, of McCarley, passed away on March 12, 2004 at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven due to complications from a stroke.

Services for Mrs. Parker were Monday, March 15, 2004 at McCarley Methodist Church with Rev. Trey Harper assisted by Rev. Vickie Landrum and Rev. Don Bishop officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton with Lee Funeral Home of Winona in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Brian Barrentine, Lydell Barrentine, Howard Sherman, Clint Boutwell, Joe Serio, and Al Malone. Honorary pallbearers were James Howard and Marion "Jr." Barrentine.

Mrs. Parker was the former assistant director of physical plant at Mississippi University for Women in Columbus. She was a member of McCarley United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, former member of Columbus Board of Realtors and Columbus Chamber of Commerce and former member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Columbus.

Her husband, James W. Parker; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Edward Barrentine, all preceded her in death.

Mrs. Parker is survived by one daughter, Rev. Catherine Parker Larsen of Olive Branch; four brothers, George Barrentine of Columbus, John Barrentine of Sallis, Bill Barrentine of McCarley, and Tom Barrentine of Marietta, Ga.; and four grandchildren.
