Gloria Spence Riggs, age 76, passed away suddenly and peacefully, on March 13, 2022 in Lady Lake, Florida.
Gloria was born in Kinston, North Carolina on November 9, 1945 to the late James Horace Spence and Elsie Grey Green. She married the late Carl William Eisenhard in 1968 and moved to Pennsylvania where she lived happily for 27 years. Together, they had a life full of love and travel with their 2 daughters.
Dedicating her life to her family, Gloria loved them with a steadfast conviction. She was a proud and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was often cited saying that her family was her life's greatest accomplishment. She had a passion for cooking and could always be found creating and sharing delicious food with the people she loved most.
Gloria was lucky to find true love again later in life. She married Zeb Vance Riggs Jr. in 2004 in New Bern, NC. They moved to Lady Lake, Florida in 2015 with their beloved cats where they spent their days bowling, playing cards, enjoying time with wonderful friends, and living life to the fullest.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 17 years, Zeb Vance Riggs Jr. of Lady Lake, Florida, his three daughters, Sherry, Tina and Lisa and her loving children, Cheryl Shinton and her husband Matt Shinton of Lancaster, PA, Amy Eisenhard and her husband, Nicholas Van Dyk of Portland, ME; and 3 cherished grandchildren, Ella Shea Van Dyk, Ruby Gray Van Dyk, and Phoebe Wyatt Shinton who affectionately referred to her as "Bam."
An intimate celebration of life will be held for close family and friends in Jones County, NC in April. To honor Gloria's memory, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
