June G. Zalec, 90, Green Bay, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, at a local hospital.
She was born Aug. 27, 1918, in Green Bay, to Earl and Myrtle (Jacques) Collins.
June had been employed as a waitress at the Blackstone Restaurant for over 30 years. She was a longtime member of St. Willebrord Parish.
June married Joseph Zalec in Escanaba. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Mrs. Zalec enjoyed spending her summers in Calumet, Mich., which she always referred to as "God's Country."
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Myron and Janet Maus, Cleveland, Tenn.; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Paul Kelsey, Green Bay; ten grandchildren, Myron Maus Jr., Deanna Morales, Lori Lee, Francene Deutsch; Adam Kelsey, Scott Kelsey, Scott Miller, and Barbara's children, Christine, Michelle and Yvonne; six great-grandchildren, Jamie, Adrian, Brandon, Chris, Heather, Chantel; three great-great-grandchildren, Lexi, Hailey, and soon to arrive, Kaden; a sister, Mary Jane Degreef; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Collins, both of Green Bay; a special aunt, Angeline Sachen; a brother-in-law, Roman Zalec, both of Ypsilanti, Mich.; and all of her friends at the Fort Howard Apartments.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; two daughters, Karen Ann DeWitt, Barbara Lord; a grandson, Todd Miller; a brother, Robert Collins; and a sister, Pearl Madden.
Friends may call at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, 209 S. Adams St., from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Ken DeGroot O. Praem., officiating. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
