Betty J. Price, 75, of Bunn Mountain Road, Saxton, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones, after a courageous battle with breast cancer, and most recently, bone and brain cancer.

Born Feb. 19, 1947, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Margaret (Huffman) Kauffman, the 7th of their 10 children.

She is survived by 2 children: a daughter, Lee Ann Alexander and husband Wayne, of Tampa, Florida; a son, Randall Fisher and companion Samantha Beaubien, of Tooele, Utah; 5 grandchildren: Nakisha Ruggiero and husband Benjamin; Brandy Kunselman and husband Joshua; Zachary Alexander and wife Jacqueline, all of Tampa, Florida; Logan Fisher and wife Jessica of China Spring, Texas; Amy Skrhak and husband Brandon, of Rogers, Texas; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Last but certainly not least, her loving companion and caregiver, Flash Smith, as well as devoted neighbor and best cook ever, Barb Hart, both of Saxton, PA.

She is also survived by six siblings: Shirley "Jean" Adams of Mattawana, Richard Kauffman and wife Shirley of Lewistown, Connie Grove and husband Melvin, Donald Kauffman and wife Cheryl, Bradley "Doc" Kauffman and wife Ann, all of McVeytown, and Sandra "Sue" Kauffman of Lewistown.

Her youngest child, Thomas Fisher, preceded her in death on Apr. 25, 2005. Also preceding her in death were brothers, Robert "Peanut" Kauffman, William "Bill" Kauffman, and sister, Linda Grove.

She was employed as a WalMart Customer Service Manager for 11 years, in Lubbock, Texas, then 7 years, in Belton, Texas. Most recently, she worked at Dollar General Store in McVeytown, PA for 3 years, then for 18 months, in Saxton, PA

Betty was especially proud that both of her children served their country, as daughter Lee Ann served 25 years on active duty in the United States Air Force and son Randy served 20 years on active duty in the United States Army.

The family is grateful to Dr. Roy Williams and his team at Lewistown Geisinger Hospital, who did everything possible to maximize her time, during the many hills and valleys of her cancer journey, over the last 4 ½ years.

The family is also thankful for Grane Hospice personnel, RN Kenzi Wilt, CNA Rachel Brumbaugh, and Chaplain Ruthie Joudry, and many others, who cared for her and kept her comfortable during her final months. Also, a grateful thanks to private sitter Ivie Ruhlman, for her kind and compassionate respite care.

Friends and Family are welcome to visit on Friday, March 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market Street, McVeytown, PA.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 26, at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Glen Alliance Church, 1058 State Road 103 North, Lewistown, PA. with Lay Pastor Bradley "Doc" Kauffman officiating. Graveside services will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Mattawana, with a fellowship lunch afterward at Pine Glen Alliance Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grane Hospice of Altoona, PA, at 115 Union Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.
