John Crawford Bean
Business Owner Also Worked At Chester Frost Park

John Crawford Bean, 84, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.

Born on Nov. 16, 1937, to attorney Crawford Bean and Eloise Nash Bean, he was the oldest of four brothers. He attended Anne B. Lacey and Mountain Creek grade schools, Red Bank High School and Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tn. It was a good time to grow up on a small farm right outside of Chattanooga.

Crawford worked for 10 years for Scott-Schroder Landscape Company. Afterwards, he owned and operated Sunshine Frame Shop in Hixson for 12 years. Then, he worked for Hamilton County at Chester Frost Park on the lake for 15 years until he retired.

He is survived by his daughter, son, and brother, plus many nieces and nephews.

Crawford grew up in St. Peter's Episcopal Church, and it was his home church. He also attended Red Bank Presbyterian and North Red Bank Baptist. All these churches meant a lot to him throughout his life. He and his wife, Toni Clinton Bean of LaFayette, Ga., had both placed their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Crawford was preceded in death by his wife, Toni; his parents; and brothers, Martin and David.

Crawford's family would like to thank Tara Brantley for the loving care and special attention she provided him during his final months.

The family will receive friends at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace, on Saturday, March 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with funeral following at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bill Harvey officiating.

Burial will be in White Oak at the Chattanooga Memorial Park, 501 Memorial Drive on Monday, March 21, at 11 a.m. near the Hilltop Pavilion.
