Betty was retired from Harnett County Social Services and had formally served in the Army. She was an avid baker and loved quilting, knitting, and crocheting; and enjoyed golfing and bowling with friends. Betty was an active member of her church and loved the church and church family.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Erwin by Rev. Thomas Greene. Burial will be held at 2pm at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
She is survived by son, Jess Collins; two daughters, Tara Smith, and husband Scottie Smith of Clayton; Nicole Collins-Griffin; three granddaughters, Caroline Collins, Krystal Ellis and husband Dakota Ellis and Stephanie Ennis; brother, Larry Morgan and wife Ruth Morgan.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am prior to the service.
