Passed away Wednesday evening, February 2, 2022. Kathleen was born February 6, 1953 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Edward and Wanda (Cox) Lee. Kathy was a 1972 graduate of Mattawan High School. She medically retired from Kalamazoo Stamp and Die, and then went on to become a preschool teacher for Trinity Lutheran School in Paw Paw, MI. An avid crafter, she enjoyed drawing, crocheting, flower arranging and painting. Most of all, her family will miss her cooking. Some of her family's favorite dishes will never be replicated without her magic touch.

On August 28, 1992, Kathleen was united in marriage to Harley Gettys, who preceded her in death on June 21, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Larry Cahow; son, Jonathan Gettys; and a brother, Terry Lee. She is survived by 4 children: David Cahow of Denver, CO, Lorie (Gene) Osborne of Kalamazoo, Anthony (Tracy) Gettys of Eva, AL, and Lorrie (Bill) Kelly of Gobles; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Tom (Sandy) Lee of Mattawan, Bobby (Mindy) Lee of Portage; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family from 12:00-1:00pm on Friday, February 11 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes on 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where a memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm. Following the service, a light reception will follow in the Langeland Family Center. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Humane Society.
