Kent was raised on a farm near Mercer, and he never lost the love of that farm. He was united in marriage to Angela Renae (Sims) Ellis on November 4, 1989. Kent and Angela had three girls, Kodi, Kylie and Vickie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Kenneth Lee Ellis; a sister, Kathy Jo Ellis, mother-in-law Vickie Sims, and sister-in-law Laura Sims.
Kent is survived by his wife of 32 years Angela; daughters, Kodi Jean Ellis, Kylie Jo Miler (Jacob), and Vickie Ellis; grandchildren, Aubree and Kaleb Colyn, and Marcus Miler; one brother, Kirk (Terry) Ellis; two sisters, Kristy Jackson (Kevin), Karla Meinke (Kenny); father-in-law, Joe Dale (Sandy) Sims; brothers-in-law, Joe Sims (Hillary), Derek Kidd (Kaela); sister-in-law, Mandy Kidd; 17 nieces and nephews, and 4 great nieces and nephews.
Kent loved the Lord and was a member of the Mercer Assembly of God Church, where he often taught Sunday School, and was a friend and strong support for everyone who came through the door.
Kent loved to be outside, mowing, fishing, or hunting. He was an avid gun and knife collector and had a huge work family that meant so much to him. Kent loved his grandchildren with all his heart.
Kent has been cremated under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Princeton, MO.
