Beloved Father, Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend, Jackie Elwood May, age 67, passed away peacefully at his home in Harrogate, Tennessee on March 14, 2022 of kidney failure. His loving wife, Cindy, was by his side as he departed this earth.

He was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky, on March 4, 1955. He attended school in the Middlesboro School System and graduated from Middlesboro High School in 1973. He went on to work in the family business Conley's Drive-In Restaurants until his father's retirement, at which time he assumed ownership and went on to own/operate the business from August of 1980 until his death. He was also a member of the Middlesboro City Council during the 1980's and owned several other businesses throughout his career. These businesses include Conley's Gas and Grub, Jackie May Auto Sales, as well as owning/operating other separate convenience stores and gas stations in the Middlesboro and Harrogate areas. His passion was music, and he loved nothing more than picking his flat top guitar and singing his favorite songs. He practiced the Baptist faith and was a faithful member of Indian Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Elwood May and Sarah Grace Leffel, sister Donna Kay Honeycutt, niece Heather Honeycutt, as well as older and younger brothers, Ronald May and David May.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy May; son Chris May, his wife Johannah, and their two sons Trey and Noah; daughter Amy McCurry, her husband Jason McCurry, and their son Jacob McCurry; daughter Tammy Wheet, and her sons Eric Lambert, Jordan Lambert, and Sidney Lambert and his wife Emma; one older brother, Donald May also survives him along with his wife Betty, son Donald Lee and Pam, and their son Raylen and daughter Susan; sister-in-law Susan May; several nieces and nephews, Ronnie, Travis, Chastity, Andrea, Jody, Sarah, Tyler, and Rachel, along with their respective families; special friends Marty and Wayne Stanifer, Steve Mars, and Bernie Bisceglia, all of whom he has known for more than five decades; as well as many other relatives and friends too numerous to name.

The family of Jackie May will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Moyers officiating. Obituary reading by Mr. Johnny Campbell.

Entombment Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Middlesboro, Kentucky.

Pallbearers will be Jason McCurry, Jacob McCurry, Ronnie May, Donnie Lee May, Wayne Stanifer, and Marty Stanifer.
