As of March 14, 2022, Susan was absent from her body and present with the Lord. Born in Waukon, IA on August 22, 1941, she died in Winston-Salem, NC at age 80.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, Marjorie (Clausen) and Darwin Maurer.

After attending Oklahoma State University for three years, she graduated summa cum laude from Central State College (UCO) and taught business education at Northwest Classen High School in Oklahoma City for four years. Susan loved Jesus Christ and her family and enjoyed photography, attending Bible conferences, and teaching women's Bible studies.

Susan was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 59 years, James Thomas Dixon, who went to be with the Lord on June 3, 2021. Susan is survived by two sons and their wives: Drew and Kelly of Winston-Salem, NC, and Kyle and Juliana of Lookout Mountain, GA.

She is also survived by six grandchildren: Brant, Will, Jay and his wife Meta Katherine, Ty, Tim, and Olivia, as well as two brothers, Bryan Maurer and his wife Marcia of Oklahoma City, OK and Craig Maurer and his wife Kathy of Dallas, TX. Susan also leaves five nieces and nephews: Meredith Maurer Rudden, Greg Maurer, Matt Maurer, Stephanie Maurer Heideman, and Scott Maurer.

Memorial donations may be made to Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, PO Box 690, Taylors, SC 29687.

A visitation for Susan will be held Friday, March 25, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162.

A memorial service to be held at Heritage Presbyterian Church, 14500 North Western Avenue, Edmond, OK 73013 at 11am on March 26, 2022.
