Mary Alyce Snyder, age 89, of Mishawaka, passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, March 12 at North Woods Village @ Edison Lakes. Mary retired in 1998 from Mishawaka Utilities after 11 years of service. Prior to that she also worked at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens and helped her husband, at Don's Marathon, on Bittersweet and McKinley Highway, all while raising three wonderful children.

Mary was born on May 11, 1932 in Mishawaka to the late Lawrence R. and Margaret I. (Doolittle) Sudlow and was a lifelong resident. On March 9, 1951 in South Bend, she married Donald E. Snyder who survives. In praise to the Lord, they had just celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary together with family.

Also surviving is a daughter, Candace K. (Dr. Scott) Edwards of Granger; two sons, Stephen E. (Sandra K.) Snyder of Elkhart, Terry G. (Ann) Snyder of Elkhart; five grandchildren, Jeffery (Kathy) Snyder, Timothy (Sara) Snyder, Melissa (Matthew) Laney, Garrett Snyder and Grace Snyder; ten great grandchildren, Jonah, John, Mollianne, Olivia, Ava, and one on the way; additional great grandchildren include Meghan, Daniel, Katy & Matthew Graybill; plus one great, great grandson Colton.

A sister, Linda (Michael) Leonard of Grayson, GA, and a brother, Terry C. Sudlow of Osceola also survive;
sister, Lydia "Irene" Kelly, and two brothers, Jim and Richard Sudlow preceded Mary in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Gospel Center Missionary Church, 930 S. 30th St, South Bend, IN 46615. Friends and family may gather from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday, March 21, 2022 at the Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, IN 46545 and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN.

Mary was an active member at Gospel Center Church for more than eighty years. She enjoyed singing in the choir, participated in Bible Study Fellowship, and was a member of the Gideons International Auxiliary. She also helped in coordinating the local National Day of Prayer for years. She enjoyed travel, especially to Mackinac Island, baking (Her apple pie was the best!), reading and needlepoint.

The family expresses great thanks and appreciation for the loving care of Mary Alyce given by staff and administration at Sprenger Health Care, North Woods Village, and Heart to Heart Hospice.
